What you will do

  • Operate machines classified as 'difficult rating' C.
  • Assist machine attendants in identifying potential breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with mechanics for machine servicing.
  • Perform daily and weekly oil checks on machinery.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the plants.

Requirements

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of D plain or equivalent.
  • Passed the Suitability Test for Plant Operators Grade III.
  • Hold a valid Plant Operator Certificate from NITA or NCA, Trade Test Grade II or I.
  • Possess a valid driving licence for classes B, C, E, and G without current endorsements.
  • Able to operate at least two plants of 'difficult rating' C, such as Grader, Excavator, or Roller used in road construction (excluding quarry work), including performing pre-checks, greasing, and minor maintenance.
  • Completed a First-Aid Certificate Course of at least one day from St. John Ambulance, Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology, or another recognised institution.
  • Have a valid certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police.

Benefits

The position is permanent and pensionable, with a salary range of KES 18,250 to 22,720.
