Senior Technician – Grade Eight (8) Two (2) Positions MSU/ACA/SASS/DAD/01/26 (Department of Art and Design)
Requirements for Appointment
- A Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Textile, Apparel and Fashion Design or its equivalent
from a recognized and accredited university;
- At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience as a Technician;
- Proven practical proficiency in operating sewing machines, computer-aided design (CAD)
software for fashion and garment construction technology; and
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Collecting and preparing teaching materials;
- Ensuring that the laboratory is kept clean and tidy always;
- Keeping and maintaining laboratory / workshop equipment in good order;
- Cleaning laboratory workshop ware and keeping them safe;
- Ensuring that the chemical / equipment stores are kept clean;
- Ensuring laboratory tables are kept clean
- Supervision and mentoring of assigned staff;
- Updating laboratory chemical / consumables and equipment inventory; and
- General routine laboratory work
