Full Time Faculty - Orthopaedic, Department of Surgery

• Coordinate and monitor high quality educational programmes in orthopaedics.
• Provide clinical services including admitting, consulting, diagnosing, and treating orthopaedic patients.
• Order tests and radiology, and consult with sub-specialists as needed for patient care.
• Attend to emergency orthopaedic cases and provide inpatient and outpatient services including on-call duties.
• Educate patients on informed consent, wellness prevention, and early detection.
• Prepare and deliver regular clinical teaching activities.
• Assist residents with rotations, implement and monitor educational programmes, and support formative assessments.
• Promote and facilitate research among residents and fellows, and participate in scholarly educational and clinical research.
• Participate in reviewing and developing policies and procedures to improve patient healthcare and best practice guidelines.

• Hold a Master of Medicine degree or its equivalent.
• Be registered or eligible for registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ & Dentists Council as a specialist.
• Have completed a Fellowship programme in Orthopaedics.
• Have at least 2 years of clinical experience with teaching and research experience.
• Hold at least the academic rank of Senior Instructor.
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated leadership ability in a multi-disciplinary team.
