About this role
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Property Development & Investment
- Develop and implement the Group’s real estate development strategy and pipeline.
- Assess properties and determine the highest and best use.
- Recommend whether assets should be developed, sold, retained, leased, subdivided or partnered.
- Develop residential, commercial, industrial, retail and mixed-use development
- Feasibility & Financial Analysis
- Conduct technical, market and financial feasibility studies.
- Prepare development budgets, cash flows, ROI/IRR and profitability projections.
- Analyse property market trends, demand, pricing, rental potential and
population/infrastructure growth.
- Prepare investment papers and recommendations for management approval.
Land Development & Planning
- Identify and implement land subdivision and value-enhancement opportunities.
- Assess potential for commercial centres, retail facilities, industrial use and other
income-generating developments.
- Coordinate architects, planners, surveyors, quantity surveyors, engineers and other
consultants.
- Coordinate planning, subdivision, change-of-use and development approvals.
Project Management
- Lead approved projects from concept, design and approvals through implementation
and completion.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, quality and deliverables.
- Monitor contractors and consultants and address delays, risks and cost overruns.
Joint Ventures & Commercial Partnerships
- Identify and evaluate viable joint ventures and strategic development partnerships.
- Conduct commercial due diligence and prepare partnership proposals.
- Review existing/shelved development proposals and advise on their current viability.
Asset Optimisation & Disposal
- Identify opportunities to improve the utilisation, income and capital value of existing
properties.
- Evaluate properties proposed for disposal against potential future development value.
- Recommend redevelopment, refurbishment, change of use, leasing, partial
development or disposal where appropriate.
Reporting & Portfolio Monitoring
- Maintain an up-to-date property portfolio and development pipeline.
- Provide monthly/quarterly reports on project progress, costs, risks, investment
requirements and expected returns.
- Track approved projects against agreed financial and operational targets.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Land Economics, Property Management, Construction, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Urban Planning, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
- Membership in Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK).
- Master’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Property Development, Project Management or related field is an added advantage.
- 8–12 years’ relevant experience in real estate development, property investment or asset management.
- Proven experience in property feasibility studies, financial modelling and investment appraisal.
- Experience in land development, subdivision, planning and development approvals.
- Experience managing residential, commercial, industrial or mixed-use projects.
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, county authorities and other stakeholders.
- Experience in property valuation, market analysis, project management, negotiations and joint ventures
