DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Management & Administration
- Lead the day-to-day HR function and ensure effective implementation of hotel HR policies, procedures, and processes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, contracts, personnel files, leave records, and other HR documentation.
- Advise management and Heads of Department on HR matters, policies, procedures, and employee-related issues.
- Prepare regular HR reports covering staffing, turnover, absenteeism, leave, performance, and other key workforce indicators.
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, from workforce planning and job profiling to sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
- Work with Heads of Department to identify staffing requirements and ensure timely recruitment of suitable employees.
- Develop effective recruitment channels and maintain a pool of qualified candidates for critical hotel positions.
- Ensure new employees receive proper induction, orientation, and integration into the organization.
Employee Relations & Discipline
- Manage employee relations matters and provide guidance on workplace grievances, conflicts, complaints, and disciplinary issues.
- Ensure disciplinary processes are handled fairly, consistently, confidentially, and in accordance with applicable employment laws and company policies.
- Support managers in addressing employee performance and conduct issues appropriately.
- Promote a positive workplace culture built on professionalism, respect, accountability, and effective communication.
Performance Management & Staff Development
- Coordinate the hotel’s performance management and appraisal processes.
- Work with managers to establish clear performance objectives, KPIs, and development plans.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate relevant learning programs for employees and managers.
- Support career development, succession planning, employee engagement, and retention initiatives.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Coordinate monthly payroll processes and ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll information.
- Maintain accurate records relating to salaries, allowances, deductions, leave, overtime, and other employee benefits.
- Work closely with Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure employee records are up to date.
- Support administration of statutory and employee benefit requirements in line with applicable regulations and company policies.
Labour Law & Compliance
- Ensure HR practices comply with applicable Kenyan employment and labour laws , regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date HR policies, employment documentation, and compliance records.
- Monitor changes in employment legislation and advise management on relevant implications.
- Ensure workplace practices support employee welfare, health, safety, equality, and fair treatment.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory HR role.
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry is preferred, particularly within a sizeable hotel operation.
- Strong experience in recruitment, employee relations, disciplinary processes, and labour-law compliance.
- Proven experience in payroll coordination, performance management, training, and HR administration.
- IHRM/SHRM certification or membership will be an added advantage.
