About this role

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hotel Operations & Leadership

  • Provide overall leadership and direction across all hotel departments, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Lead and coordinate Heads of Department, setting clear objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure consistent standards across Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Finance, and other functions.
  • Act as the senior operational decision-maker, resolving complex issues and ensuring business continuity.

Commercial & Revenue Management

  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize hotel revenue, profitability, occupancy, and market position.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Revenue, and Operations teams to drive corporate, conference, events, rooms, and F&B business.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, occupancy, and revenue performance to identify growth opportunities.
  • Review commercial performance regularly and implement corrective strategies where targets are not being achieved.

Financial & Cost Management

  • Take overall responsibility for the hotel’s financial performance and achievement of approved budgets.
  • Monitor revenue, operating costs, departmental expenses, payroll, procurement, and other key financial indicators.
  • Drive effective cost-control measures while maintaining service quality and operational standards.
  • Work closely with Finance to review financial reports, forecasts, budgets, and management accounts and take appropriate action.

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Champion a strong guest-focused culture across the hotel and ensure consistently high service standards.
  • Monitor guest feedback, reviews, complaints, and satisfaction levels and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Personally, oversee the resolution of escalated guest and client concerns.
  • Ensure the hotel maintains high standards of cleanliness, presentation, service delivery, safety, and overall guest experience.

People & Performance Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the hotel’s management team and wider workforce.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Review departmental performance and ensure managers achieve agreed operational and financial KPIs.
  • Support recruitment, succession planning, training, staff development, and performance management initiatives.

Stakeholder & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, owners, partners, suppliers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, business forums, corporate functions, and relevant hospitality platforms.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and initiatives that strengthen the hotel’s market position and commercial performance.
  • Maintain strong awareness of industry developments and identify opportunities for business growth and operational improvement.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, health, safety, environmental, licensing, and hospitality requirements.
  • Ensure hotel policies, procedures, controls, and operational standards are consistently implemented.
  • Identify operational and commercial risks and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are in place.
  • Maintain a safe, compliant, and professionally managed hotel environment.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years’ progressive experience in hotel management, with strong senior leadership experience.
  • Proven experience managing Heads of Department and multiple hotel departments within a full-service property.
  • Demonstrated experience in hotel commercial management, financial performance, revenue generation, and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, including Rooms Division, F&B, Sales & Marketing, Engineering, and support functions.
  • Knowledge of hotel PMS/POS systems and management reporting will be an added advantage.
  • Experience managing a sizeable hotel or conference-oriented property is highly preferred.
