Geophysicist II

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: - Geophysics, Petroleum Geophysics, Petroleum Geo-Science, Applied Geophysics, Geology, Physics, Exploration Geophysics, Earth Science or Physics and Mathematics from a university recognized in Kenya.

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:- (i) collecting and compiling petroleum related geophysical data; (ii) assisting in execution of planned geophysical field surveys for oil & gas projects; (iii) participating in basin analysis using geophysical petroleum data; (iv) participating in the preparation of petroleum related reports; and (v) compiling oil and gas information for relevant stakeholders.
