Geo-Chemist II

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Petroleum Geochemistry, Petroleum Geo-Science, Petroleum Chemistry, Geology, Chemistry, Petroleum Exploration and Production, Analytical Chemistry, Earth Science, Industrial Chemistry, Exploration Geo-Chemistry or Chemistry and Mathematics from a university recognized in Kenya.

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:- (i) collecting and compiling petroleum related geochemical data (ii) assisting in execution of planned geochemical field surveys for oil & gas projects; (iii) participating in basin analysis using geochemical petroleum data; (iv) participating in the preparation of petroleum related reports; and (v) compiling oil and gas information for relevant stakeholders.
