About this role

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Operations & Project Implementation

  • Conduct regular visits to farms, project sites, and other field locations across Kenya as required, ensuring activities are carried out according to project objectives and timelines.
  • Develop a clear understanding of each project and the purpose of assigned field visits to ensure relevant information, activities, and deliverables are captured.
  • Support field implementation activities, including coordination with farmers, project teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Farmer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with farmers, farmer groups, suppliers, local stakeholders, and other parties encountered during field activities.
  • Communicate effectively with farmers and stakeholders, providing basic agricultural information and escalating technical or operational matters where necessary.
  • Represent the company professionally during farm visits, meetings, community engagements, and other field activities.

Data Collection & Reporting

  • Collect, verify, organize, and maintain accurate field data, photographs, observations, and other information in accordance with established procedures.
  • Prepare and submit timely daily and periodic field reports, clearly documenting activities undertaken, findings, challenges, and follow-up requirements.
  • Follow the company’s reporting structure and ensure all field documentation and data are submitted accurately and within the required timelines.

Field Support & Coordination

  • Support field teams with the procurement and coordination of raw materials and other resources required for project implementation.
  • Attend company meetings, presentations, briefings, and training sessions to remain informed about project requirements, products, procedures, and operational priorities.
  • Provide regular feedback from the field on farmer needs, project progress, operational challenges, market observations, and other issues requiring management attention.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in field operations, agriculture, agribusiness, project implementation, farmer engagement, or a similar role.
  • Basic understanding of agricultural practices, farming operations, and rural environments.
  • Experience working directly with farmers, farmer groups, or rural communities will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and report field data accurately.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital data collection tools.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Kenya.
