DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hotel Operations

  • Support the General Manager in overseeing the hotel’s daily operations and ensuring efficient coordination across departments.
  • Monitor Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Banqueting, and other operational areas to ensure consistent service standards.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency, service delivery, and guest satisfaction.
  • Act as the senior operational lead in the absence of the General Manager when required.

Department & HOD Coordination

  • Coordinate and work closely with Heads of Department to ensure departmental objectives and operational priorities are achieved.
  • Conduct regular operational meetings and follow up on agreed actions, targets, and outstanding issues.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between departments to support seamless hotel operations.
  • Monitor departmental performance and escalate significant operational issues to senior management.

Conferences & Events

  • Coordinate hotel operations for conferences, meetings, banquets, weddings, and other high-volume events.
  • Work closely with Events, Banqueting, F&B, Front Office, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure event requirements are delivered effectively.
  • Monitor event execution, service quality, staffing, and operational readiness before and during major functions.

Guest Experience & Service Standards

  • Maintain high standards of guest service across all hotel touchpoints.
  • Handle escalated guest complaints and operational challenges professionally and efficiently.
  • Monitor guest feedback and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
  • Promote a guest-focused culture and ensure staff consistently adhere to hotel service standards.

Team Leadership

  • Provide operational leadership, guidance, and support to departmental teams and supervisors.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, discipline, and professional conduct across the hotel.
  • Support departmental managers in staff development, performance management, and training initiatives.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and operational preparedness during peak periods and major events.

Reporting & Cost Control

  • Review operational reports and provide management with accurate updates on hotel performance and key issues.
  • Monitor basic operational costs and support departmental managers in controlling wastage and unnecessary expenditure.
  • Ensure hotel systems, records, checklists, and operational documentation are properly maintained.
  • Support the General Manager in implementing operational budgets, targets, policies, and procedures.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years’ progressive experience in hotel operations, including management responsibility.
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple hotel departments and Heads of Department.
  • Strong knowledge of Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Banqueting, conferences, and general hotel operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-volume conferences, events, or functions.
  • Knowledge of hotel management systems, operational reporting, and basic cost control will be an added advantage.
