About this role

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Commercial Strategy

  • Develop and execute the hotel’s sales and marketing strategy to achieve revenue, occupancy, and market-share targets.
  • Drive corporate, MICE, conference, events, group, and leisure business to maximize hotel revenue.
  • Identify new markets, business opportunities, and strategic partnerships to grow the hotel’s commercial performance.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, pricing, and customer demand to inform commercial decisions.

Corporate Sales & Key Accounts

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, institutions, NGOs, travel companies, event planners, and other key accounts.
  • Lead negotiations for corporate contracts, rates, conferences, events, and group bookings.
  • Develop account plans to increase revenue, retention, and business from existing clients.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, client visits, presentations, and business reviews to strengthen relationships and generate new business.

Conferences, Events & MICE

  • Lead business development for conferences, meetings, seminars, workshops, weddings, banquets, and other events.
  • Build a strong pipeline of conference and events business and ensure effective conversion of enquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Develop strategic relationships with event planners, conference organizers, corporates, associations, and institutions.
  • Work closely with Operations and Banqueting teams to ensure client requirements are effectively managed and delivered.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the sales and marketing team to achieve individual and departmental targets.
  • Set clear KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews, sales meetings, and pipeline assessments.
  • Build a proactive sales culture focused on prospecting, networking, account development, and revenue generation.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between Sales, Marketing, Revenue, Reservations, and Operations.

Marketing & Brand Development

  • Develop and oversee marketing campaigns that strengthen the hotel’s brand and generate measurable business opportunities.
  • Drive digital marketing, social media, promotional campaigns, content, and other relevant marketing initiatives.
  • Develop targeted promotions and packages for rooms, conferences, events, and other hotel revenue streams.
  • Monitor marketing performance and ensure campaigns deliver strong commercial returns.

Revenue & Performance Management

  • Work with senior management and revenue teams to develop revenue forecasts and commercial action plans.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including revenue, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, account production, and conversion rates.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular forecasts and performance reports.
  • Identify revenue gaps and implement timely strategies to improve business performance.

Business Development & Networking

  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, corporate functions, and networking forums.
  • Build strategic partnerships with corporates, travel agents, tour operators, event companies, and industry stakeholders.
  • Identify new market segments and develop targeted strategies to increase the hotel’s customer base.
  • Maintain strong industry networks and continuously pursue new business opportunities.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in hotel sales and marketing, including significant management experience.
  • Proven track record in driving hotel revenue and acquiring new business.
  • Strong experience in corporate sales, conferences, events, MICE, and key account management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing sales and marketing teams.
  • Strong understanding of hotel commercial operations, revenue generation, and market positioning.
  • Experience in a conference-heavy, full-service, or large hotel operation is highly preferred.
  • Established corporate and hospitality industry networks will be an added advantage.
