About this role
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook food according to approved recipes, menus, and required standards.
- Ensure meals are properly cooked, presented, and served within the required timelines.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Assist with preparation for regular service, conferences, banquets, and other functions as required.
Kitchen Hygiene & Food Safety
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Handle, store, and prepare food safely in accordance with established food safety procedures.
- Ensure workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and properly maintained.
- Minimize food contamination, spoilage, and wastage through proper handling and storage practices.
Stock & Portion Control
- Follow approved portion sizes and recipes to support effective food-cost control.
- Assist with monitoring ingredients and report shortages, spoilage, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper use and storage of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Support stock rotation and maintain appropriate food storage standards.
Teamwork & Service Support
- Work closely with the Chef and other kitchen team members to ensure smooth food production and service.
- Maintain efficiency and composure during busy service periods.
- Follow instructions from the Chef and support other kitchen duties as assigned.
- Contribute to a professional, disciplined, and positive kitchen environment.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Certificate or Diploma in Food Production, Culinary Arts , or a related field.
- 2+ years’ experience working in a hotel, restaurant, or similar professional kitchen.
- Practical experience in food preparation, cooking, portion control, and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to maintain food quality and consistency during busy service periods.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Good cooking and food preparation skills.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
