About this role

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable & Receivable Support

  • Assist in generating, verifying, and dispatching accurate client invoices and receipts.
  • Match supplier invoices against purchase orders (POs) and delivery notes to ensure accuracy before processing payments.
  • Help track outstanding customer balances, update accounts receivable logs, and assist in drafting polite payment reminders.

Bookkeeping & Data Entry

  • Input daily financial transactions, expenses, petty cash vouchers, and bank statements into the accounting system.
  • Maintain a highly organized, secure, and easily retrievable digital and physical filing system for all financial records and payment vouchers.
  • Assist senior team members in cross-checking bank records against internal spreadsheets to identify and report variances.

Statutory & Compliance Assistance

  • Assist in compiling necessary data for monthly statutory deductions (PAYE, SHIF, NSSF, Housing Levy) and VAT filings.
  • Help retrieve, scan, and sort financial documents during internal or external company audits.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a strictly related business field.
  • Must be an active CPA Candidate (CPA Section 1, 2, or fully qualified parts).
  • Previous internship or attachment experience handling accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions is highly advantageous.
  • A strong foundational understanding of basic accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial ethics.
  • Practical familiarity with mainstream accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP tools, combined with strong skills in Microsoft Excel (data sorting, formulas, and formatting).
