What you will do
- Operate the pharmacy professionally following approved SOPs and regulatory requirements.
- Check the quality, quantity, and integrity of pharmaceutical products delivered.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pharmacy records and licenses, including DDA registers and temperature monitoring charts.
- Apply the First-Expiry-First-Out principle during storage, dispensing, and billing.
- Ensure infection prevention and control standards are met to keep the workspace clean and safe.
- Maintain complete and accurate inventory records in the Health Management Information System (HMIS).
- Monitor stock levels and place orders promptly to avoid shortages.
- Capture and report missed sales for analysis and follow-up.
- Apply approved price discounts according to company policy.
- Deposit cash sales promptly and ensure financial transparency.
- Provide clear and patient-friendly medication instructions and dispense prescriptions accurately.
- Offer preventive healthcare advice and counselling when appropriate.
- Minimise patient waiting times and engage patients courteously and professionally.
- Report weekly to headquarters on procurement, inventory, pricing, and market insights.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of pharmacy operations and service delivery.
Requirements
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognised institution is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences is preferred.
- Valid and current Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) licence with no disciplinary history is mandatory.
- At least 2 years of experience in a busy retail, clinic-based, or hospital pharmacy setting is required.
- Experience using a Health Management Information System (HMIS) is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in computer-based pharmacy management and billing systems is an advantage.
- Good skills in spreadsheet software such as Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel are required for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Familiarity with digital health tools is preferred.
- Integrity and honesty in cash handling, inventory management, and patient interactions are essential.
- Strong attention to detail in dispensing, documentation, and stock reconciliation is needed.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for pharmacy operations is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused attitude are necessary.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure while managing high patient volumes is important.
