What you will do

  • Lead and guide a team of 5 to 10 technical trainers to maintain task quality and meet deadlines.
  • Review engineering tasks comprehensively, including problem statements, simulation inputs, and reference solutions.
  • Validate tasks related to finite-element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, dynamics, robotics, flight simulation, propulsion, and orbital mechanics.
  • Ensure tasks represent realistic engineering workflows requiring complex technical reasoning.
  • Check engineering accuracy in units, equilibrium, conservation laws, boundary conditions, mesh convergence, solver tolerances, reference frames, and numerical stability.
  • Confirm computational environments and simulation tools produce reproducible results.
  • Examine automated graders to verify they assess relevant engineering outputs such as stresses, deflections, aerodynamic coefficients, thermal performance, orbital parameters, and safety margins.
  • Identify technical errors, unrealistic assumptions, incorrect tolerances, and ways tasks might be bypassed.
  • Provide detailed technical feedback, monitor revisions, and ensure quality before task approval.
  • Onboard trainers, assign work, monitor quality and productivity, resolve technical issues, and maintain documentation and best practices.

Requirements

  • Hold a PhD, postdoctoral experience, or equivalent advanced expertise in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Have strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, Fortran, Julia, or MATLAB/Octave.
  • Be proficient in Linux and command-line environments.
  • Possess practical experience in at least one key area such as finite-element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, dynamics, flight simulation, thermal modeling, astrodynamics, guidance, navigation and control, or propulsion.
  • Understand engineering simulation, numerical methods, computational modeling, and technical validation.
  • Have experience reviewing complex technical work, including engineering simulations, computational models, or research outputs.
  • Be capable of assessing engineering assumptions, numerical accuracy, solver convergence, and computational reliability.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills to detect technical errors, edge cases, and flawed assumptions.
  • Have experience mentoring, reviewing, or leading small technical teams.
  • Exhibit excellent written communication skills for precise technical feedback and documentation.
