About this role

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Administration & Workforce Management

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee records, contracts, onboarding, leave, attendance, staff welfare and general HR administration.
  • Monitor workforce requirements, attendance, overtime and staffing levels, particularly within production and operational teams.
  • Provide timely HR support to management and employees while ensuring effective implementation of HR policies and procedures.

Payroll Management

  • Manage the monthly payroll process accurately and on time, including salaries, allowances, overtime, deductions and statutory obligations.
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations, verify employee data and promptly investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records and ensure all payroll documentation is properly maintained.

Recruitment & Employee Relations

  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes, including candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, reference checks, employment documentation and induction.
  • Handle employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary cases, absenteeism, workplace conflicts and performance-related concerns.
  • Support performance management, employee engagement and staff welfare initiatives aimed at improving productivity and retention.

Production HR Management

  • Work closely with production and operational teams to address workforce requirements and employee-related issues affecting production.
  • Monitor employee productivity, attendance, overtime and other workforce indicators and provide relevant reports to management.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving workforce efficiency, employee discipline and overall production performance.

HR Projects & Compliance

  • Plan, coordinate and implement HR projects, ensuring activities are properly scheduled, monitored and completed within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, statutory requirements and company HR policies and procedures.
  • Prepare HR reports and provide management with relevant workforce information to support decision-making and organizational planning.

Regional HR Support & Travel

  • Provide HR support across the assigned region, including employee visits, recruitment, training, workforce reviews and other HR activities.
  • Travel within the assigned region as required to support business operations and successfully implement HR initiatives and projects.
  • Build effective working relationships with employees, managers and other stakeholders across different locations.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Commerce, Business Administrationor a related field.
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or CHRPqualification is required/strongly preferred.
  • Membership of IHRMwill be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation and statutory HR requirements.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant HR experiencein a busy and fast-paced working environment.
  • Extensive practical experience in payroll management.
  • Experience supporting production/manufacturing workforce operationswill be highly preferred.
  • Proven experience handling employee relations, HR administration and workforce management.
