Chief Superintending Inspector of Mines

(i) a minimum service period of three (3) years at the grade of Senior Superintending Inspector of Mines or in a comparable and relevant position in the public service; (ii) a Bachelor of Science degree in any of the following fields: -Mining Engineering, Mineral processing Engineering or Civil Engineering from a recognized University (iii) demonstrated high standards of professional competence and managerial ability required for effective planning, directing, control and co-ordination of the activities of any of the sections of the Mines division; (iv) be well versed with both local and international guidelines for the safe mining; and (v) a certificate in Senior Management Course (SMC) lasting not less than four (4) weeks

(i) drafting of Policy, Mineral Legislation, Standards and mineral agreements (ii) reviewin of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)reports for exploration and mining projects; (iii) monitoring mine rehabilitation/reclamation projects; (iv) promoting mineral resources development, prepare work plans, divisional budgets, (v) co-ordinating and supervising Senior Superintending Inspectors of Mines (vi) monitoring and evaluating work performance, attend court cases involving mining disputes; and (vii) participating in promotion of public awareness on petroleum-related environmental and safety issues;
