Chief Superintending Geologist

(i) a minimum service period of three (3) years at the grade of Senior Superintending geologist, CSG '8', or in a comparable and relevant position in the wider public service; (ii) a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in any of the following disciplines: Geology, Applied Geology, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Mining Geology, and Environmental Geology. Engineering Geology or its equivalent from a university recognized in Kenya; (iii) demonstrated professional competence and high administrative ability in geological services; (iv) attended a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; and (v) been registered by the Geologists Registration Board of Kenya.

(i) supervision of geological mapping, mineral exploration and geological hazards programs; (ii) planning, implementation, evaluation and assessment of the progress of various geological mapping, geophysical and geochemical mineral exploration, Geotechnical and environmental investigation programs under different sections of the division; and (iii) preparing and negotiating projects plans that require external funding.
