What you will do
- Process supplier invoices, payments, and related accounting transactions accurately and on time.
- Maintain supplier accounts, statements, and reconciliation records.
- Prepare supplier ageing reports, monitor outstanding balances, and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage payment schedules and ensure payments follow approved procedures.
- Issue cheques and maintain cheque registers.
- Prepare daily cash position reports and post financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare and verify schedules for statutory tax returns and payments, ensuring timely submission.
- Support internal and external audit processes related to accounts payable.
- Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to accounting policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline from a recognised institution.
- CPA(K) or ACCA qualification.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, Creditors, Finance, or Accounting.
- Experience in supplier payments, reconciliations, ageing analysis, and payment processing.
- Knowledge of preparing and processing statutory tax returns and payments.
- Good understanding of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance.
- Experience with General Ledger entries, payroll journals, and account reconciliations.
- Familiarity with fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and CAPEX controls.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience using SUN Financial, Materials Control, or similar accounting/ERP systems is preferred.
- Previous work experience in a hotel or high-volume hospitality setting is an advantage.
