About this role

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Accounting

  • Handle day-to-day accounting activities including posting transactions, invoicing, receipts, payments, and general ledger entries.
  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash management.
  • Maintain accurate and organized physical and digital financial records.

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Assist with iTax and eTIMS transactions, tax documentation, and statutory submissions.
  • Maintain proper tax records and support the preparation of relevant tax schedules and returns.
  • Keep up to date with basic tax requirements and ensure assigned tasks comply with applicable regulations.

Financial Reporting & Month-End Support

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, reconciliations, and preparation of accounting schedules.
  • Support preparation of financial reports and provide accurate financial information when required.
  • Assist with audit preparation by providing supporting documents and schedules to senior finance staff.

Finance Administration & Support

  • Follow up on customer and supplier accounts and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure financial documents are properly authorized, recorded, and filed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Work closely with other departments and perform other finance-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CPA qualification or ongoing CPA studies will be an added advantage.
  • 1–2 years of relevant working experience, preferably as an Assistant Accountant or Junior Accountant in a busy environment.
  • Hands-on experience in general accounting work.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Basic understanding of iTax and eTIMS.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize and maintain financial records effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
