Read the flow of goods in the job description

Warehouse titles can hide quite different responsibilities. Receiving work concerns what arrives and its condition; inventory work concerns accurate stock records; dispatch concerns what leaves and whether the right documentation follows it. A supervisor may be accountable for the whole flow and the team.

Mark the part of that flow covered by the advert. Then note the systems, equipment and checks mentioned. Do not claim warehouse-management software or equipment qualifications just because you used a different system or watched someone operate a machine.

Prepare one accuracy example

Use a real example of reconciling a stock difference, checking an order, recording a delivery or maintaining an inventory list. Explain the information available, the check you performed and how you recorded or escalated the result.

A course or attachment example can be useful if you label it honestly. If you have paid experience, protect customer, stock and commercial information when sharing samples. A simplified sample you created yourself can demonstrate the method without exposing employer records.

Check the site, shifts and transport

A logistics employer may recruit for a named warehouse, customer site or distribution centre. Confirm the location and reporting arrangements instead of assuming the corporate office is your workplace.

Before accepting, ask about shift timing, transport, protective equipment and the physical tasks involved. Use the written advert and offer to understand the requirements; a generic logistics label does not establish lifting duties or permission to operate specialist equipment.

Use the employer’s application route

DHL’s official career portal separates business divisions and countries. Other logistics employers use their own systems. Keep the vacancy reference and the name of the employing business alongside the application confirmation.

When an assessment is requested, check the location, contact and permitted tools through the official invitation. Prepare to explain your checks and decisions, not just to repeat warehouse terminology. Never pay an intermediary for a guaranteed vacancy.

Compare the whole offer

Separate fixed pay from overtime or attendance-related amounts. Ask how shifts, extra hours and deductions are recorded, and whether the contract names the same employer and site as the advert.

Use the net salary calculator only for the regular monthly cash-pay scenario it describes. The final payslip can differ because of variable hours, allowances, benefits and other deductions. Keep those conditions with your offer comparison.
