What you will do
- Coordinate procurement planning with project managers and consolidate into a master procurement plan.
- Manage supplier prequalification and maintain the supplier register ensuring compliance with policies.
- Prepare and issue requests for quotations, proposals, and tenders, and manage procurement documentation.
- Draft and manage contracts for goods, services, works, and leases, monitoring performance and renewals.
- Support implementation of supply chain and logistics policies, including office supplies and transport service contracts.
- Conduct field visits to audit logistics compliance and support stock and warehouse management.
- Coordinate shipping, clearing, and forwarding activities, ensuring documentation and timely delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Procurement, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management from a recognized Kenyan university.
- Proven experience in procurement and logistics with an INGO, Red Cross/Red Crescent, or UN agency.
- Strong background in procurement planning, supplier management, contract administration, warehousing, and fleet coordination.
- Understanding of donor regulations such as BHA, CFGB, FCDO, and ECHO, and quality standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of ERP/procurement systems is an advantage.
- Experience in market assessments, supplier evaluations, and value-for-money analysis.
- High integrity, accountability, and commitment to transparency.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks in a humanitarian context.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written; Somali language skills are an advantage.
- Understanding of the Somalia/Gedo operational context and logistical/security challenges.
- Commitment to safeguarding standards, humanitarian principles, and zero tolerance for fraud and corruption.
- Working experience with Trócaire of over six months is preferred.
- CIPS Diploma in Procurement is an added advantage.
- Certification in Humanitarian Logistics or Supply Chain Management from Logistics Learning Alliance is an added advantage.
- MEDLOG certification from Logistics Learning Alliance is an added advantage.
