What you will do

  • Write and edit content for press releases, newsletters, website pages, and campaign materials.
  • Ensure all written drafts align with messaging standards and maintain a dignified tone.
  • Copy-edit website content and coordinate updates with digital and brand teams.
  • Coordinate editorial inputs for major publications like annual reports and newsletters, managing timelines and reviews.
  • Collect and source stories from internal channels and teams to support storytelling efforts.
  • Support thought leadership content development and package visibility materials for partners.
  • Maintain editorial calendars and frameworks to ensure consistent voice and tone across communications.

Requirements

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in content creation, writing, and editing, preferably in communications, campaigns, journalism, or mission-driven organisations.
  • Possess strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with adaptability to different audiences.
  • Experience in multi-channel content including newsletters, websites, campaigns, and media content.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across various teams and departments.
  • Interest in storytelling, campaigns, social impact, entrepreneurship, and economic inclusion.
  • Comfortable sourcing stories by monitoring internal communication channels and engaging with colleagues.
  • Experience working in East Africa or similar regional contexts is preferred.
