What you will do

  • Plan and deliver Montessori lessons and activities suitable for the learners' age to encourage independent learning.
  • Prepare and use Montessori materials effectively to help learners develop their skills.
  • Observe learners individually and adjust activities to match their development and interests.
  • Create and maintain a child-friendly classroom environment that promotes independence and follows Montessori principles.
  • Support learners' overall development including cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional growth.
  • Supervise learners to ensure their safety, health, hygiene, and wellbeing throughout the school day.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about learners' progress and participate in school meetings and activities.
  • Prepare lesson plans, maintain accurate learner records, and evaluate teaching effectiveness to improve learning outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events to contribute to the school's growth and culture.

Requirements

  • Hold a Diploma or Certificate in Montessori Education from a recognised institution.
  • Have at least 2 to 3 years of teaching experience in a Montessori environment.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Montessori philosophy, methodology, and child development.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be patient, nurturing, and child-centred in approach.
  • First Aid and child safety/safeguarding training is preferred but not required.

Benefits

The salary for this position is KSH 25,000 per month.
