What you will do

  • Lead and foster a positive, collaborative team culture within the Investigations Unit 2.
  • Manage and oversee misconduct investigations, ensuring timely and professional completion of cases.
  • Supervise and support investigators, providing expert advice on complex and sensitive cases.
  • Oversee investigations into sexual misconduct, coordinating with relevant UNDP offices and stakeholders.
  • Represent the Office of Audit and Investigations (OAI) in regional and international forums and liaise with external agencies.
  • Ensure proper handling, collection, and security of evidence and investigative documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of investigation practices through knowledge sharing and training.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in Investigations, Law, Management, Finance, or related field, or a bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience.
  • At least 10 years (with master's) or 12 years (with bachelor's) of progressively responsible experience in complex criminal and administrative investigations.
  • Experience conducting investigations across multiple locations and performing quality assurance and legal assessments.
  • Proven experience supervising investigation teams and managing large caseloads.
  • Preferred experience designing risk assessment frameworks for complex investigations.
  • Preferred experience advising senior leadership on sensitive investigative matters.
  • Preferred experience in policy development through institutional collaboration.
  • Preferred experience in international investigations and senior management roles.
  • Preferred experience leading complex sexual misconduct investigations using victim-centred approaches.
  • Preferred experience conducting field investigations in high-risk or conflict-affected areas.
  • Preferred proficiency in data analytics, digital evidence, AI applications, and forensic resources for investigations.
  • Preferred professional certification in national and international investigations.
  • Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of another UN language is preferred.
