What you will do
- Develop and implement a growth strategy for Somalia and Djibouti aligned with company objectives.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across various payment and financial services.
- Build and manage a sales pipeline to meet revenue and growth targets.
- Lead sales activities from prospecting to contract closure and handover.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams to identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events and regulatory forums.
- Monitor market and regulatory developments and provide intelligence to leadership.
- Prepare business cases, proposals, and commercial models.
- Ensure accurate management and reporting of sales opportunities in CRM.
- Work with internal teams to ensure successful customer outcomes and contract compliance.
- Maintain sales forecasts and update management regularly.
- Facilitate smooth transition of new customers to implementation and account management teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5 to 8 years experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or commercial roles in payments, banking, fintech, telecommunications, or digital financial services.
- Proven success in selling complex B2B technology or financial services solutions.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and sales targets.
- Experience engaging senior executives in banks, fintechs, and financial institutions.
- Experience working in East Africa or the Horn of Africa region is highly preferred.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Existing networks in Somalia and/or Djibouti banking and payments sectors are preferred.
