What you will do

  • Perform top ring welding following approved drawings and specifications, ensuring alignment, accuracy, and proper finishing.
  • Weld metal frames for institutional stoves according to design drawings, maintaining structural integrity and weld quality.
  • Assist with automated welding processes including machine commissioning, setup trials, and troubleshooting.
  • Work with engineering and maintenance teams to optimise welding parameters and production output.
  • Operate MIG, ARC, or TIG welding equipment using jigs, fixtures, and gauges while handling materials carefully.
  • Support training of casual team members and help improve jigs and fixtures, supervising the team as needed.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues and ensure timely completion of work.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work area.

Requirements

  • Have 2 to 4 years of welding or metal fabrication experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience with stove manufacturing, sheet metal work, or similar industries is preferred.
  • Be skilled in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques.
  • Be able to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Understand welding techniques, metallurgy, and material properties, especially mild steel and stainless steel.
  • Have experience using jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
