What you will do

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing HR programme activities within a complex HR operation.
  • Research, compile, analyse, summarise, and present HR and programme-related data, including workforce statistics and staffing trends.
  • Support coordination of programme/project planning, monitoring proposal status, and ensuring timely document submission.
  • Manage non-staff personnel contracts, extensions, entitlements, and compliance with UN rules.
  • Monitor and evaluate programmes and HR activities by tracking progress, expenditures, outputs, and deviations, and prepare reports.
  • Collaborate with managers on performance reporting and assist in interpreting planning instruments and reporting guidelines.
  • Draft programme/project summaries, coordinate review and clearance, and manage finalisation and publication of reports in multiple languages.
  • Serve as focal point for coordination and follow-up of HR and programme activities, liaising with various units to resolve recruitment, staffing, travel, procurement, and payment issues.
  • Prepare and maintain files and databases; generate reports, statistical tables, and background materials for reviews.
  • Draft correspondence related to HR programmes to support interagency coordination with UN partners.
  • Support data analysis and prepare presentations, dashboards, infographics, and other visual materials for reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support recruitment and staffing processes for staff and non-staff personnel.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports for knowledge sharing and decision making.
  • Update information materials such as web pages or brochures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completed high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Supplementary training in administration, project management, or a related field is desirable.
  • At least seven years of work experience in human resources, programme/project administration, or related areas is required, including three years supporting non-staff recruitment and administration.
  • If the candidate has a first-level university degree, the required experience is reduced by two years.
  • At least two years of experience preparing HR/workforce reports through data collection, validation, analysis, and presentation is required.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Umoja, SAP, or equivalents in HR or administrative operations is required.
  • Experience applying human resources policies and procedures in the United Nations or similar international organisations is desirable.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft-based HR or recruitment applications like Inspira or equivalents is desirable.
  • At least one year of experience in data analytics or related fields is desirable.
  • English language proficiency at UN Level II in reading, writing, listening, and speaking is required.
