Legal Counsel - Contract Management

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with customers and vendors globally.
• Provide legal support to various internal teams including sales.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company projects.
• Use Canonical's contract management system to maintain accurate contract data.
• Work with local legal counsel in different countries to obtain and implement advice.

• Hold a law degree, JD, or equivalent qualification.
• Have an active licence to practise law or be progressing towards it.
• Demonstrate an exceptional academic record from high school and university.
• Show strong organisational and prioritisation skills to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Be effective working independently and as part of a team.
• Possess professional written and spoken English, with excellent drafting and presentation skills.
• Be confident to speak up, exchange feedback, and share ideas respectfully.
• Have excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, accountability, and self-motivation.
• Be result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
• Be willing to travel internationally 2-4 times a year for company events lasting up to two weeks.
• Have a passion for technology shown through personal initiatives or projects.

• Preferred: Experience in commercial transactions, intellectual property, or corporate law.
• Preferred: Leadership skills and ability to influence others.
• Preferred: Understanding of open source software community and technology industry sectors.
• Preferred: Experience working in-house legal teams or law firms.
