Consultant Therapist, Speech & Language

• Hold a bachelor's degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Speech Pathology, or an equivalent qualification.
• Have valid professional registration or licensure where applicable.
• Possess at least one year of clinical experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting.
• Have training and experience in assessing and managing dysphagia.
• Have experience in acute care, ICU, stroke rehabilitation, paediatrics, or neurorehabilitation.
• Hold certification in specialised areas of speech therapy.
• Ability and knowledge of sign language is an added advantage.
• Preferably have one year’s work experience as a Speech and Language Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist in a hospital setting.
• Hold a basic life support certification.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and culturally appropriate communication.
• Be able to work with clients in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Have language skills in more than one language such as Kiswahili, Somali, Gujarati, or other Kenyan languages.
• Use reflective practice.
• Show interest in the effectiveness and cost efficiency of therapy for clients.
• Possess good organisational and time management skills.
• Be flexible to accommodate patients as needed.
• Be creative and able to innovate in their work.
• Have stamina and a tenacious spirit.
