What you will do
- Take part in animal health demonstrations and agricultural shows.
- Collect and send samples as required.
- Inspect livestock routines and compile technical reports.
- Train and demonstrate milking and parasite control methods like dipping, spraying, and dusting.
- Perform vaccinations, closed castration, dehorning, ear tagging, branding, deworming, disbudding, docking, debarking, and hoof trimming.
- Provide simple treatments to animals.
- Participate in disease surveillance and reporting.
- Maintain records on animal breeding, health, milk production, and dipping data.
- Manage dairy units.
Requirements
- Hold a diploma in Animal Health, Animal Health and Production, Environmental Health, Clinical Pathology and Laboratory Diagnosis, Poultry Science, Veterinary Public Health and Meat Technology, or Animal Husbandry from a recognised institution.
- Be registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board.
- Have a certificate in computer applications from a recognised institution.
- Possess a meat inspection, abattoir instructor, or meat grading certificate from the Meat Training Institute.
Benefits
The salary range is KES 28,620 to 37,100. The position is permanent and pensionable.
